This Spirit-Led Art piece is a tribute to the enduring resilience and unwavering faith of our people. Crafted with fluid acrylics, the artwork utilizes dark tones and fiery elements to symbolize the trials and testing that we have overcome. It honors those who have walked through the flames of injustice, emerging stronger and more connected to our spiritual and cultural traditions.
Through faith and a steadfast connection to these traditions, we have survived abuse and suffering. In this work, I pay homage to my ancestors and express deep gratitude to the elders and the Creator for ensuring that the cultural genocide did not prevail. Their strength and guidance have brought me through fire and flame as well.
